Halloween Tri-Fold Pop-Up Card

I recently purchased some new Scrappy Tails Halloween dies to make some pop-up tri-fold cards. Here is my first go at making one of Sabrina Leavell’s tri-fold cards. I watched a few of her YouTube lives before I began.

Tipsy Teacups Birthday Card

This card was made for CRAFT ROULETTE #284 whose parameters included a Funn fold card, birthday party colors, Maggie Smith element, and spiral (s) (ing). Today’s card uses The Greetery dies and stamps.

Cardbase:  I started with a 4.25×11-inch rectangle of 100lb white cardstock that was scored and folded at 5.5-inches and 9-inches to form an A2 (4.25×5.5-inch) easel card.

Tipsy Teacups:  Watch the video above to see how the cups were created with stencils using pink ink and a gold marker. The tipsy mechanism is a strip with tracks cut into it for penny slider mechanism. I used Pear Blossom Press’s new Snap N’ Slide penny slider plastic pieces which are like snaps that you can use a glue dot to adhere to the back of the teacups.

Sentiments:  “Sip, Sip HOORAY! It’s your birthday” and Hopping your day is steeped in happiness” are both in the Brew-Tea-Ful Day stamp set. They are stamped onto striped, textured, thin cardstock cut with the larges and smallest of the A2 Stitched Scallops die set.

Envelope:  The back flap is stamped with “Life is Brew-TEA-ful” in brown ink.

Getting Skinny

This card was made to celebrate Simon Says Stamp! Stamptember with Riley & Company’s The Dog Life stamp set and coordinating dies. It also uses pop-up dies by Karen Burniston.

Woven Basket: The base of this basket card that can fold flat, is Karen Burniston’s Woven Basket Box Card. The grass inside is also from the same set. For assemble see video above. A black alcohol marker was used on the coated gold cardstock to make the nail heads on the basket frame.

Sentiments: The main sentiment on the card was stamped in black ink and die cut using the coordinating dies in The Dog Life stamp set. It is on the round stem piece from the Bouquet Bits die set. The white fancy label on the basket back is for a personal message and is cut using the fancy label die in the Triple Platform Pop-Up set.

Tree: The tree was cut from some doubled-sided scrap patterned papers using the Tree Pop-Up die set.

Wizard Themed Pop-Up Birthday Card

It’s the Karen Burniston design team challenge for September 2025 using the theme of letter. I chose to make a card celebrating the Owl Post in the Harry Potter world using the Feathered Animals, Postage Pop-Up, Arch Pop, Rainbow Add-Ons, and Paper People die sets.

Cardbase: Start with a purchased A2 (4.25×5.5-inch) cardbase of brown kraft paper. Cover the four panels with decorative papers. (I used Ciao Bella’s Wizard Academy paper pad.)

Arch Pop-Up: Watch the assembly videos (located at the bottom of the linked die set pages) for the Arch Pop-Up and Rainbow Add-Ons. Use different shades of gray to build up the stone archway. The keystone of the arch is a decorator die in the Photo Fan Pop-Up.

Harry and Hedwig: Harry is made using three die sets – Paper People, Tiny Accessories 1 and Graduation Elements. Hedwig is made using the Feathered Animals set using white card stock and a gray brush tipped marker. (Watch the video above for assembly. Also watch this video for more details on the Hogwarts uniform.) The envelope Hedwig carries is from the Postage Pop-Up set. Watch the video above to learn how the red seal is made.

Sentiments: All the sentiments and Hogwarts crest used on the card are stamped using brown ink and Crackerbox Stamps. Watch the video above for how the large envelope and message card are made from the Squares – Crosshatch die set. “Happy birthday” on the card front is the Happy Birthday Lorna Add-Ons.

Envelope: The card fits into a brown kraft paper A2 (4.25x 5.5-inches) size envelope stamped with a castle and an owl post stamp on the back flap in brown ink.

Day 7 – Week of Good Cheer Christmas Cards

This is Day 7 in the Week of Good Cheer Christmas Card series featuring cups and mugs of winter cheer as beverages. Today’s card features Trinity Stamps’ Trini-Tea Cup Card die set made up as a Santa mug of cocoa. (GIVEAWAY opportunity near end of post.)

Cardbase:  I started with an 8.5×11-inch sheet of red cardstock of at least 80lb. weight and cut out the shaped card base using the Trinity Stamps’ Trini-Tea Cup Card die set.

Santa:  Santa is created using a Spellbinders’ set of scalloped circles and an i-Crafter’s set of nested circle dies. Watch the video above to see how it was made. The mustache, eyes, mouth and eyebrow come from the Spellbinder’s Cocoa Wonderland die set.

Sentiments:  The die-cut sentiments of “Christmas Greetings” and “ho, ho, ho” are from Karen Burniston’s Small Script- Christmas die set. Another Karen Burniston product, her Winter Hugs stamp set, was used to stamp “Stay warm and drink Hot Cocoa” in brown ink on the catalog (6×9-inches) envelope’s back flap.

Day 6 – Week of Good Cheer Christmas Cards

This is Day 6 in the Week Of Good Cheer Christmas Card series featuring cups and mugs of winter beverages like hot cocoa, tea and coffee, or as in today’s card, a floral arrangement. The main pop-up in this card is by Paper Discovery. The card also uses Karen Burniston dies and stamps. (GIVEAWAY opportunity near end of post.)

Cardbase:  I started with a purchased A6 sized (4.625×6.25-inches) cardbase and matching envelope. I covered the four panels with decorative paper from Craft Consortium’s Tis The Season designed by Linsey Kelly.

Teacup Pop-Up:  Watch the video above to see how the teacup and saucer were assembled. They were die cut from white cardstock using Paper Discovery dies by Olga Direktorenko – Teacup Fairies Timeless Tea Set Pop-Up Die Set. (This die set came out in 2020.) The poinsettia and greenery are from the Poinsettia die set.

Sentiments:  “Noel” on the card front is cut twice – once from red and again from gold mirror cardstock using a Spellbinders’ alphabet die set. The label for a personal message is the is from the Rectangles – Crosshatch die set. The smaller label is cut using the largest square in the Photo Fan die set and stamped in black ink using the “Wishing you a season of cheer” stamp from the Season of Cheer stamp set. The green message pick is cut using the circle pick die in the Bouquet Bits set.

Envelope:  The tags card fits into an A6 envelope whose back flap is covered with leftover strips from the paper collection.

Day 5 – Week of Good Cheer Christmas Cards

This is Day 5 in the Week Of Good Cheer Christmas Card series featuring cups and mugs of winter beverages like hot cocoa, tea and coffee. Today’s card uses Karen Burniston’s die sets. (GIVEAWAY opportunity near end of post.)

Cardbase:  The cardbase is a purchase A2 (4.25×5.5-inch) brown kraft paper one with matching envelope. The four panels are covered with decorative paper using rectangles cut by the largest die in the Rectangles – Crosshatch set.

Pop-Up Ball Cup:  Watch the assembly video for the Mini Ball Pop-Up located at the bottom of the linked page. Cut two of the ball pieces from red coated cardstock. Cut from the Mini Ball Add-ons 2 – Monkey and Lion die set, two of the curled tail piece – one on the coated side and one on the reverse side of coated cardstock – and glue together with paper tape addition as shown in the video above. Stamp the brown cocoa design onto a scrap of white cardstock and cut out using the Bitty Ball decorator hexagon die from either the Bitty Ball Double-Ups or the Bitty Ball Pop-Up. Cut out two white and one red hexagon frames using the Bitty Ball and Mini Ball decorator hexagon dies. (Mini Ball Double-Ups or the Mini Ball Pop-Up sets both have this die.) Assemble as shown in the video above. The white saucer is cut using the Hexagons – Crosshatch set.

Sentiments:  All the sentiments stamped in brown ink using the Karen Burniston stamp set – Winter Hugs. The labels on which they are stamped were cut using label dies in the Rectangles and Labels – Crosshatch set.

Envelope:  The card fits into an A2 envelope whose back flap is has stamped “Winter Hugs” in brown ink from the Winter Hugs stamp set.
