Trinity Stamps – Nutcracker Slider Card

Welcome to Day 3 of my Nutcracker series using a variety of stamps and die sets to make some nutcracker themed cards. My card today uses products by Trinity Stamps – Nutcracker Cup Character, Take-Out Coffee Cup Shaped Card and Sundae Swirl Alphabet dies sets and Hero Arts’ A Little Nuts stamp set.

Watch the process video below to learn how this card was made.

Cardbase: Using the large die from the Take-Out Coffee Cup Shaped Card, cut out a card base from a 7.5×5.5-inch piece of black cardstock.

Nutcracker Front: Referring to the image of the nutcracker on the packaging for the Nutcracker Cup Character die set, cut out all the pieces using your own color scheme. (I used black for the eyes, teeth, hat bill/visor and belt, flesh color hands and nose, blue for sleeves, gold for belt buckle, sleeve cuffs, epaulets and button cording, red for jacket and hat, copper brown for hair, eyebrows and mustache, and yellow for the feather in hat.) Cut a white square to fit the back of the teeth. Cut from Flesh color, a cup holder using the die in the Take-Out Coffee Cup Shaped Card set to use as the face. Assemble as shown in video.

Sentiments: Using the Sundae Swirl Alphabet die set, cut from red the words “Happy Holidays” and glue together as directed in the video above. Cut from white a cup holder using the die in the Take-Out Coffee Cup Shaped Card set.

Envelope: The panel card fits into an A2 size envelope with a nutcracker and “Nutcracker is my favorite season” on the envelope back using the Hero Arts’ A Little Nuts stamp set.

Day 7 – Week of Good Cheer Christmas Cards

This is Day 7 in the Week of Good Cheer Christmas Card series featuring cups and mugs of winter cheer as beverages. Today’s card features Trinity Stamps’ Trini-Tea Cup Card die set made up as a Santa mug of cocoa. (GIVEAWAY opportunity near end of post.)

Watch the video below to see how the card was made.

Cardbase:  I started with an 8.5×11-inch sheet of red cardstock of at least 80lb. weight and cut out the shaped card base using the Trinity Stamps’ Trini-Tea Cup Card die set.

Santa:  Santa is created using a Spellbinders’ set of scalloped circles and an i-Crafter’s set of nested circle dies. Watch the video above to see how it was made. The mustache, eyes, mouth and eyebrow come from the Spellbinder’s Cocoa Wonderland die set.

Sentiments:  The die-cut sentiments of “Christmas Greetings” and “ho, ho, ho” are from Karen Burniston’s Small Script- Christmas die set. Another Karen Burniston product, her Winter Hugs stamp set, was used to stamp “Stay warm and drink Hot Cocoa” in brown ink on the catalog (6×9-inches) envelope’s back flap.

Bottom Fold Purse Pop-Up Birthday Card

It’s the Karen Burniston design team challenge for August 2025 using the theme of bottom fold pop-up card. I chose to make a purse card using the Ovals – Crosshatch, Happy Birthday words & shadow, Dolled Up Charms, Bam Box Pop-Up and Display Helpers die sets as well as the Birthday Magic stamp set.

Watch the process video to see how I made this card.

Cardbase & Handles: Start with a 8.5×5.5-inch piece of patterned cardstock and fold in half to form a side-fold A2 (4.25×5.5-inch) card. Place the largest Oval-Crosshatch die on the folded card with a tiny bit of the long edge of the oval die hanging off the folded edge. Die cut to have a shaped oval card base. Use the Display Helpers large paperclip die to cut the slots to thread the ribbon handles through as shown in the video above. Weave in the ribbon handles and clasp strip before gluing down the inside decorative ovals. (These ovals are the second largest dies in the Oval-Crosshatch set and are used to cover the ribbon raw edges and the clasp edge.)

Bam Box Pop-Up & Clasp: Watch the assembly video for the Bam Box Pop-Up. Cut out one of the Bam Box strip mechanism. Cut five of the decorative rectangles from paper matching the cardbase paper. Make Bam Box as show in the assembly video at the bottom of the linked page. Glue three of the decorative panels on to the Bam Box as shown in the video above. Glue the two remaining rectangles back to back and fold slightly off center to form the clasp. Glue clasp and Bam Box in as directed in the video above. Adhere two magnets using double-sided tape as shown in the video above. Stamp “Lift” on the front of the clasp using the Display Helpers stamp set.

Lipstick:  Using the Dolled Up Charms die set to cut out the four pieces of the lipstick tube from gold and red cardstock. Follow the directions in the video above and glue to the white oval cut with the third largest crosshatch die in the Oval-Crosshatch set.

Sentiments:  All the stamped sentiments come from the Birthday Magic stamp set and are stamped in black ink. The die-cut “Happy Birthday” uses the word die and its matching shadow die to make the pop-up Bam Box greeting.

Envelope:  The card fits into an A2 (4.25x 5.5-inches) size envelope stamped with “You bring the Sparkle” on the back flap in black ink.

Arrow Shaped Card – Look At The Stars

This card was made for CRAFT ROULETTE #275 whose parameters were include an ATC, starry night colors, down element, and white dots. I chose to make a shaped card that includes an ATC (Artist Trading Card.)

Watch the process video to see how I made this card.

Cardbase:  I started with two pieces of 4.125×11-inch white cardstock. Traced around the arrow pattern I made from scrap paper and cut both of the arrows at the same time. I trimmed one arrow, at the wide end, off by .5-inch to let the other arrow have a tab to connect the the two pieces together. (After I completed the card, I found it was a little too long to fit in an 6×9-inch catalog size envelope, so I trimmed the arrow tip a little to made it fit.)

Sentiments: I used Karen Burniston’s Mini Alphabet to make the “When you’re down, Look up to the stars” sentiment. (I lined the letters up on my grid mat and used low tack tape the pick them up in line and then added glue, pressed in place on the card and finally lifted the tape off, pressing letters onto card.)

Envelope:  The card fits into an catalog size envelope (6x 9-inches).

Dress-Shaped Card

This card was made for Craft Roulette #268 whose parameters included a card for a student, modern colors, clothing element, and abstract blob(s). I made an A9  shaped-card of encouragement for a student of life.

Watch the process video to see how I made this card.

Cardbase:  Using a 5.5×8.5 sheet of paper fold in half- long ways and draw one side of a dress. Cut the dress out and use as a pattern to trace for two dresses on an 8.5×11 sheet of cardstock. Add tabs to shoulders of one dress as hinges to create the shaped card.

Sentiments:  All the sentiments are stamped using rubber stamps from Riley & Company’s Funny Bones collection, except for the “Go Girl Go” which was die cut using Karen Burniston’s Mini Alphabet die set.

Envelope:  The card fits into a catalog envelope (6×9-inches).

Cardbase: Start with a 4.25 x 11-inch piece of heavy cardstock, score at 5.5-inches and fold in half to form a top-fold A2 (4.25×5.5-inch) card. Cut a 4.25×6-inchpanel of heavy cardstock and score and fold at .5-inch to form a narrow tab. Glue the tab to one end of the A2 cardbase to form a tri-fold card. Using a 1-inch circle hole punch, cut notches out of each panel’s corners. Create a gold and white ticket for the front of the card as show in video.

Box of Chocolates: The easel stop is a heart shaped box of chocolates made using Trinity Stamps’ Bon Bon Box stamps & dies, colored using glitter markers and popped up on thin foam tape.
