Trinity Stamps – Nutcracker Slider Card

Welcome to Day 3 of my Nutcracker series using a variety of stamps and die sets to make some nutcracker themed cards. My card today uses products by Trinity Stamps – Nutcracker Cup Character, Take-Out Coffee Cup Shaped Card and Sundae Swirl Alphabet dies sets and Hero Arts’ A Little Nuts stamp set.

Cardbase: Using the large die from the Take-Out Coffee Cup Shaped Card, cut out a card base from a 7.5×5.5-inch piece of black cardstock.

Nutcracker Front: Referring to the image of the nutcracker on the packaging for the Nutcracker Cup Character die set, cut out all the pieces using your own color scheme. (I used black for the eyes, teeth, hat bill/visor and belt, flesh color hands and nose, blue for sleeves, gold for belt buckle, sleeve cuffs, epaulets and button cording, red for jacket and hat, copper brown for hair, eyebrows and mustache, and yellow for the feather in hat.) Cut a white square to fit the back of the teeth. Cut from Flesh color, a cup holder using the die in the Take-Out Coffee Cup Shaped Card set to use as the face. Assemble as shown in video.

Sentiments: Using the Sundae Swirl Alphabet die set, cut from red the words “Happy Holidays” and glue together as directed in the video above. Cut from white a cup holder using the die in the Take-Out Coffee Cup Shaped Card set.

Envelope: The panel card fits into an A2 size envelope with a nutcracker and “Nutcracker is my favorite season” on the envelope back using the Hero Arts’ A Little Nuts stamp set.

Day 7 – Week of Good Cheer Christmas Cards

This is Day 7 in the Week of Good Cheer Christmas Card series featuring cups and mugs of winter cheer as beverages. Today’s card features Trinity Stamps’ Trini-Tea Cup Card die set made up as a Santa mug of cocoa. (GIVEAWAY opportunity near end of post.)

Cardbase:  I started with an 8.5×11-inch sheet of red cardstock of at least 80lb. weight and cut out the shaped card base using the Trinity Stamps’ Trini-Tea Cup Card die set.

Santa:  Santa is created using a Spellbinders’ set of scalloped circles and an i-Crafter’s set of nested circle dies. Watch the video above to see how it was made. The mustache, eyes, mouth and eyebrow come from the Spellbinder’s Cocoa Wonderland die set.

Sentiments:  The die-cut sentiments of “Christmas Greetings” and “ho, ho, ho” are from Karen Burniston’s Small Script- Christmas die set. Another Karen Burniston product, her Winter Hugs stamp set, was used to stamp “Stay warm and drink Hot Cocoa” in brown ink on the catalog (6×9-inches) envelope’s back flap.

Toaster of Thanks

This card was made for Craft Roulette #262 whose parameters included a thank you card, 1950s colors, toast(s)/bread(s), and brown paper.

Cardbase: Score and fold in half a8.5x 5.5 rectangle of silver mirror cardstock. From the Trinity Stamps Toaster Card die set, cut the toaster shaped die with its feet just slightly over the fold of the silver folded cardstock to form a toaster shaped card hinged at its feet.


Toaster: Cut one whole toaster from silver and another from gray cardstock. Cut enough of the toaster lever knob to have two knobs that are black on both sides. Glue the knobs to the inside of the toaster card’s left side near the feet. Using 1mm thick foam tape, place tape around the inside of the folded shaped toaster card to form a U shape with the opening is where the slot is. Attach the silver toaster over the foam tape to form a pocket with the slot as its opening. Repeat gluing in knob, adding foam tape and attaching the gray cardstock toaster to the other inside side of the card. Add double-sided tape to the back of some shiny black cardstock or junk mail before cutting out two of the spiraling squiggle from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Karen Burniston Merry Christmas Pop-Up and three of the toaster feet bar from Trinity Stamps Toaster Card die set. Adhere the squiggle stickers to the inside center of the silver toaster and to the back of the card’s toaster. Adhere the feet bar to the silver toasters. The gray cardstock should be without decorations.


Toast Cards: From brown kraft paper, cut two bread shaped cards using the die from the Trinity Stamps Toaster Card die set. Cut two small bread shapes using the smaller die in the set from white. Ink the inside edges and the whole outside of the brown cards with a dark brown ink. Lightly ink the edges of the white pieces. Stamp sentiments onto the front outside of cards and tops of white pieces before gluing the white to the inside of cards.


Sentiments: The toast cards’ sentiments were all stamped in brown ink using the Rubbernecker Thanks Set and Lawn Fawn’s Push Here stamps. The toaster card front has die cut letters cut from black cardstock/shiny junk mail backed with double-sided tape to form stickers. The “TOAST” word shadow was cut from white and adhered to silver mirror card with double-sided tape. All the die-cut sentiment is cut using the Trinity Toaster Card set.


Envelope: The card fits into an A7 (5x 7-inches) size envelope stamped on its flap a piece of bread with a heart using the Lawn Fawn Let’s Toast stamp set.

A Laundry Explosion Box Card for mother’s Day

This card was made for Craft Roulette #213 whose parameters included for hello project, robust colors, workplace element and mixed media. It is intended for young children to give to their mother.

I wanted to use a new Craft Roulette inspired laundry die and stamp set from Trinity Stamps called Loads of Fun.

Box: From a 12 x12-inch square of cardstock, draw lines every 3 7/8-inches on all sides. Draw a 1/4-inch tab on one side flap. Cut as shown on video. On a 6-inch square of cardstock draw lines 1-inch from edge on all sides. Cut lid as shown on video. Assemble as directed on video.

Washing Machine: Cut from glossy white cardstock one washing machine from the laundry die set. Cut the knobs and buttons from black and silver and glue in place. For the box piece the forms the 3D washing machine, cut a piece 8 1/2 x 2-inches. Fold at 3 1/8-inches, 4 1/2-inches and 7 1/2-inches. Cut a piece that will cover the side of the box from glossy white cardstock. Cut another piece of glossy cardstock the width of the top of the washing machine and the length of the top of the box, plus 1/2-inch for the two 1/4-inch tabs. Assemble as shown in video.

Table: Cut a piece of white cardstock 1×6-inches. Score and fold at 1/4-inches, 1 5/8-inches, 3 1/4-inches, and 4 5/8-inches. Glue tab to other end to form cube. Glue onto washer side and floor.  Die-cut, color and assemble laundry soap bottle and box. Using foam squares, attach them to wall atop table.

Basket: Cut four of the laundry basket from the laundry die set in green. Trim off the sides from two of the baskets, fold sides into tabs and glue onto sides of other two basket pieces to form a four-sided box. Cut fabric scraps and form into folded laundry. Glue laundry onto box base and then add glue to inside of basket before placing around folded laundry.

Sentiments: “Loads of Appreciation” and “Thank You” were stamped in black on a white die cut fancy label before being glued onto a box flap. “Happy Mother’s Day” was die cut from a scrap of the blue box cardstock. The “Greetings To My Favorite Domestic Engineer” on the box lid was computer generated.
