Woven Paper Basket

I’m here today with a 4-inch tall hexagon basket using Relatively Thoughtful digital papers – A collection called Overthinking in Colour by Karolina Osuchowska.

I based my design off of traditional basket weaving methods. The hexagon base was cut with a die (Karen Burniston’s Hexagons-Crosshatch) to make a 4.5 x3.9-inch base. The six side strips are 2.25×8.5-inches with a score and fold at 2-inches from one end. The strips were scored at 1.125-inches and then cut down the middle to the 2-inch fold. (I found it easier to cut down the middle once the side strips were glued to the base piece.)
