I like discovering new craft companies by perusing the Spin Sponsor section of Craft Roulette. That’s how I found this amusing stamp set of snarky birds from The Rabbit Hole Designs. I pared it with a nested egg shaped die set from Simon Says Stamp!

Cardbase: I used a 65lb sheet of white cardstock folded in half and die-cut the largest egg in the Simon Says Stamp Basic Shapes Nested Eggs die set. The die was placed with fold on the left side and the left edge of the die was slightly over the fold. I cut two eggs from decorative paper to cover the front and back of the card, gluing the back on first, trimming off the edge that extended over the fold before gluing the front egg onto the cardbase. (I stamped my inside sentiments before gluing the outside pieces onto the cardbase.)

Birds: Using black ink and The Rabbit Hole Designs Squawk Talk set, I stamped the images and front sentiment on to white cardstock. Next, using Nuvo Highly Pigmented Watercolour Pencils, I colored the images and used a water brush to smooth out the pigment. The images were then fussy cut out. I used 1mm thick foam tape, to pop-up the images and the sentiment on the card front.

Sentiments: From The Rabbit Hole Designs stamp set, “Happy Bird-day” and “I’m sorry did I roll my eyes out loud?” are stamped in black ink onto the inside of the cardbase. (I find it easier to do this stamping before finishing the outside of the card.)

Envelope: Using a A2 (4.25×5.5-inch) envelope I stamped “you’re egg-cellent” on the back in brown ink.
